A free 4-week introductory Economics course for people of all ages and abilities.
Starts Monday 20th January
The course will run over a four-week period, starting on Monday 20th January, and will be led by Will, an Economics teacher at a school in South East London.
The aim of the course is to give people a basic education in Economics so that they have the tools to evaluate the performance of the U.K. economy and develop their own opinions on key economic issues.
The four sessions will focus on the following topics:
- 20 January: How should we measure economic progress?
- 27 January: What role should the government play in running the economy?
- 3 February: How much inequality is too much?
- 10 February: What is the link between unemployment and inflation?
Please note that no prior knowledge is required.
Each session will be 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. It will be discussion-based session with elements of writing so please bring a pen and paper. You will benefit from the course fully if you attend all four sessions.
Will has taught Economics in a secondary school for 7 years, having previously studied it at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Economics is one of the most influential subjects in modern society and Will hopes to give people a foundation of knowledge in which to accurately interpret our economy.
This course is for individuals over the age of 18.
