Library services

The Upper Norwood Library Hub has just undergone a major refurbishment. Work has been carried out on the roof, floors and internal decor, transforming it into a sleek, contemporary space for local people and businesses to meet, learn and  socialise.

Coffee Shop

Our coffee shop Norville’s is up and running and features a range of different cakes, biscuits, and other sweet treats daily, as well as a wide range of coffees ans teas. New to Norville’s, ‘eat & go’ include combo such as roast aubergine/zucchini wraps, jerk chicken wraps, mozzarella with homemade pesto. Wraps sandwiches served with homemade cake (banana bread, lemon & poppy slice etc) and a piece of fruit all for an amazing £3.50. Homemade avocado or pumpkin hummus used in place of butter. Eat and go lunchtime combo’s will start at the hub coffee shop from the 1st October.

Crafty Stories

We have a children’s crafting and storytelling session every week on Friday and Saturday for children up to the age of 8. We tell a different story every week and the children will get to enjoy two craft sessions based on the book of the week. we have a toddler corner for younger siblings to enjoy and also provide coffee, tea and snacks for the adults as well as some juice and snacks for the children. The class is only £10 per child there is also a sibling discount available and use of the baby corner is completely free!

Space Hire

We have a fantastic new space upstairs available for events, meetings, networking, conferences, workshops, weddings, activities and more as well as a smaller space downstairs for smaller events and activities. We also have a beautifully decorated training room and a small office space for hire. We have also been planning a range of activities, programmes and services in the library hub including: A community outreach programme, volunteering, educational programmes, relaxation, dance and exercise classes, art, business networking and capacity building programmes.

Notice Board

We have 3 notice boards in the library that we use to advertise events that we have running at the library as well as events that are running in the community and local services. We offer spaces on these notice boards for people in the community to pay for to advertise an event or service they are offering in the local area.

Business Bagel- Website Workshop

The library is running a masterclass in how to create your own website using WordPress. The course will teach you all the skills you need to make a fully functioning site of your own for whatever you need it for. Library of Things

From April 2018, a newly created space in the library hub where you can borrow ‘things’ as often as you need them, e.g tools, camping gear, mowers, carpet cleaners, musical instruments and more for a fraction of the price of normal rental costs.
