Library of Things Workshop
UNLT partnered with the Library of Things Team last week, kicking off the series of community sessions funded by the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund to engage people who may not yet know about the circular economy.
Input from community members at the planning stage, highlighted the need for a one off session to explore barriers community members might face in using the service. The one-hour workshop explored how the Library of Things could reach new audiences who may not have previously considered using the service. The session provided a welcoming and inclusive space for participants to share experiences, highlight challenges, and identify practical ways to make the service more accessible for everyone. Attendees explored their relationship to ‘things’, discussed barriers to access, contributed ideas for creating a more equitable community resource, and connected with others committed to improving access for all.
“This is a brilliant thing to have for the community”
“Good work- helping the community and the environment simultaneously”
We’ll be building an annual series of workshops across the coming years with communities to ensure everyone can access sustainability initiatives with the aim of rolling the sessions out in other locations across London with the Library of Things team.
