Helen Hayes MP visit
We were delighted to be joined by Helen Hayes MP at the Upper Norwood Library Hub! We shared the impact of our programmes for local communities and how we've achieved our ambition of protecting and sustaining a library service in the heart of our community since we opened the doors of the Upper Norwood Library Hub in 2016! We are extremely proud of what can be achieved in partnership between communities and local authorities Lambeth and Croydon Councils.
You can read an article written about the visit on our Trustee June’s LEYF blog where she talks about the Reading for Pleasure inquiry and the impact of libraries and trusted community spaces like UNLH have.
We shared the impact we see for children and families attending our literacy and numeracy programme and the importance of reading for pleasure. Community based provision within a library setting as a core access point and protecting and investing in local libraries as reading infrastructure is vital!
Watch this space for our 10 year anniversary celebrations this year!
