Booking & Availability

To enquire about room hire, please complete the enquiry form or contact us directly. Once we have confirmed availability, we will send you a venue hire agreement and invoice. Your booking is confirmed once the agreement has been signed and payment has been received.

We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date and time, particularly for weekends and popular periods.

Yes. We encourage prospective hirers to arrange a viewing before making a booking. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time.

Your booking time includes any setup, preparation, decorating, packing away and cleaning time. Please ensure you allow enough time for your event, as other bookings may be scheduled before or after yours.

Yes, we host weekly and monthly regular activities. Reduced prices are available for regular hires. For more information, fill out the regular hire form at the bottom of the page.
Facilities and Equipment

There is a small car park at the rear of the building. One vehicle per booking may use the car park during the hire period for loading, unloading, refreshments, equipment, or entertainer access. Unfortunately, guest parking is not available.

Yes. A small kitchen is available for hirers to use. Please ensure all crockery, glassware and equipment are cleaned and returned before the end of your booking.
The kitchen includes:
Hot water urns (please request these when booking)
Microwave
Fridge
Catering trolleys

Yes. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments and food for your event.
You may use an external caterer. It is your responsibility to ensure that any catering company complies with relevant health and safety requirements.

Tables, chairs and a whiteboard are available free of charge.
We currently offer:

Projector – £20

Yes, Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and log -in information is on display.
Events & Entertainment

Yes. Decorations are welcome provided they do not damage the building or its contents.
Please do not use nails, adhesives, Blu Tack or any other fixing methods that could damage walls, doors or window frames.

Yes. You may arrange external entertainment for your event.
It is the hirer's responsibility to ensure that any entertainer or external supplier holds appropriate public liability insurance.

Yes, provided it complies with our licensing requirements and does not cause disturbance to neighbouring users.

No. Due to security and health and safety considerations, we do not accept bookings for private parties or discos for young people aged 13–25. Events found to have been booked under false pretences will be stopped immediately and no refund will be issued.
Alcohol & Licensing

Yes. You may bring your own alcohol to consume on the premises.
If alcohol is being served, the hirer is responsible for ensuring that no alcohol is served to anyone under the age of 18.
A Challenge 25 policy must be in place when alcohol is served.

Wine: £2 per bottle
Case of beer: £5
Bottle of spirits: £5
Cleaning & Responsibilities

You are responsible for leaving the space in the same condition as you found it. This includes:
Returning furniture to its original position
Removing decorations
Cleaning any equipment used
Cleaning any major spills during the event
Removing all food waste and rubbish from the premises

A standard cleaning fee of £22 applies to birthday parties and events where food or drink is served. This covers the clean at the end of the event.

Yes. All rubbish and food waste must be bagged and removed from the building at the end of your booking.
Two black bags can go in the blue wheelie bin in the car park. Please take any additional rubbish with you.
Costs and Charges

Bookings outside normal library opening hours require staff supervision. Staffing is charged at £16.68 per person, per hour. Most events require one member of staff, although larger events may require more.

Events continuing beyond 9pm require an SIA-licensed security guard in accordance with our premises licence conditions. This incurs a fixed charge of £115.20.

Yes. We are happy to provide a detailed quotation based on your event requirements.
Cancellations & Refunds

More than 4 weeks before the event: Full refund
Between 1 and 4 weeks before the event: 50% refund
Less than 1 week before the event: No refund

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your booking, we will contact you as soon as possible and arrange an appropriate refund.
Accessibility & Practical Information

Yes, the building is wheelchair accessible. We have lift access to all floors, as well as accessible toilets and baby change on the main and lower floors.

Yes. Children are welcome when supervised by a responsible adult.

Two spaces are available in our car park for loading/unloading and equipment or refreshments, or for an entertainer. Unfortunately, we do not have enough space for guest parking.
